About Us

The Amazigh Film Festival, founded in Los Angeles in 2007 by Helene E. Hagan, President of Tazzla Institute for Cultural Diversity, Inc., is an annual celebration dedicated to showcasing the vibrant culture of North African Amazigh (Berber and Tuareg) communities. Through a curated selection of documentaries and films created by Amazigh artists, directors, and producers, subtitled in English, the festival strives to promote and celebrate the diverse narratives and artistic expressions of the Amazigh world. From Libya to Mali, the festival serves as a platform for cultural exchange, presenting the best productions from across the region to Anglophone audiences in Los Angeles, New York, and Boston. By fostering understanding, appreciation, and dialogue surrounding the rich heritage of the Amazigh people, the festival aims to bridge cultural gaps and promote cross-cultural exchange.
